Nantucket Cultural Council closes grant cycle, two seats open for re-election in July

NANTUCKET — April 13, 2026 — Nantucket Cultural Council wraps its annual grant cycle and flags two open seats ahead of a May filing deadline. The four-member council met remotely on April 13, approving January minutes 4-0 and receiving a status report from supporting staff Dina Weatherly, who said final grant contracts will go before the Select Board on April 15 — after which disbursements to recipients will be processed and the cycle considered complete. Members Bianca Brown and Kendall Graham, both finishing their first year on the council, were told their seats open for re-election in July; anyone wishing to serve must file with the town clerk by May 8, with a successful appointment running three years through 2029. Weatherly also reminded members that state conflict-of-interest training compliance is required, and offered to help at least one member verify completion status. The council adjourned 4-0 and expects to meet again in May.
