NANTUCKET — The Nantucket Islands Land Bank Commission voted to waive a penalty and release a lien on a disputed land bank fee assessment. Staff said the property owner's attorney had not received complete court information, leaving the owner "kind of in the dark" before the unanimous waiver vote. Commissioners also reviewed golf course finances showing revenue up 10 percent and profit up 8 percent even as rounds played stayed flat, alongside a membership count of 317, including a single charter family membership held by John Stackpole.
A draft fiscal 2027 operating budget was presented for review only, with no vote taken and a capital budget still unfinished. Commissioners approved August 11 meeting minutes and voted to enter executive session to discuss litigation strategy and a potential real estate purchase, with no plan to reconvene in open session.
